The Green Bay Packers are one of the favorites in the NFC, but are they worthy? Find out the answer in our latest 2010 pre-draft preview.
The draft is tomorrow night and no one has more odds and props than Belmont. Check out the NFL Odds menu for the latest.
Belmont.ag has Green Bay at 9/2 to win the NFC and 11/1 to win the Super Bowl. The conference odds only trail New Orleans (7/2) and are just ahead of Dallas (5/1) and NFC North rival Minnesota (5/1).
The Pack had a very interesting 2009 season, seeing former quarterback Brett Favre play with the Vikings and beat them twice in the first seven games! As painful as that was, they rebounded for an 11-5 record before a close playoff loss at Arizona.
Cheesehead fans are encouraged about the offense and current signal caller Aaron Rodgers. His 103.2 quarterback rating was fourth in the league behind Drew Brees, Favre and Philip Rivers.
There’s no reason not to expect another big year with Ryan Grant (1,253 rushing yards) behind him. Expect an offensive tackle to be picked in the draft.
The defense finished second in the league in yards allowed (284.4) and seventh in points (18.6). However, the 51 points allowed at Arizona in the playoffs shows there’s much work to be done. Adding another young cornerback would help.
Season Outlook: Green Bay is right in the mix in the NFC. However, the schedule looks harder and they need to get home field advantage in the playoffs. Lambeau Field is a huge advantage in the cold weather.
Dallas is ahead of Green Bay in my opinion, and possibly Minnesota too, depending on what Lord Favre decides to do.
