6th April 2010 in NFL Betting

The NFL offseason is officially underway and a lot of wheeling and dealing has been going which might make a lot of NFL franchises look much different heading into next season.

The two teams that have decided to drastically change their franchises are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins which are both in arguably the most competitive division in the NFL.

Every single season in the NFC East division there is a tight race between some of the best teams in the league in the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Washington Redskins always seem to be on the outside looking in, but they may have changed after the blockbuster trade made this past Sunday.

Usually, teams in the same division in any professional sport refuse to make deals with other teams in the division in a way to avoid getting burnt during the season. Even though this is common practice, especially in the NFC East where there is no love lost between any of the four teams, the Redskins and the Eagles made a trade that will send six-time Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb to Washington in exchange for picks.

This was a huge deal to say the least as it drastically changes things in the NFC East and may have just put the Dallas Cowboys into the top spot in the division and quite possibly the entire NFC conference.

Last season the Dallas Cowboys had their fair share of success and failure, but ended the season with their first playoff win in a long time, so things were looking up, but after this deal went down the Eagles and the Redskins might go through some growing pains which leaves the Cowboys and the Giants as top dogs in the division.

Obviously the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints will be the team to beat in the NFC conference next season, but I believe the Dallas Cowboys will give them a run for their money and come out on top in the conference at season’s end.

Here are the Dallas Cowboys odds of winning the Super Bowl next season:

Dallas Cowboys: 12 to 1

One Response to “Can the Dallas Cowboys Dominate the NFC?”

  1. Jerry says:

I think the Cowboys are the team to beat in 2010. The Eagles made themselves weaker for 2010 with their two trades. The Redskins will be better, but they still have a lot of holes. The Giants could win it, but I am not sold on their defense and have a feeling their OL may have issues this year.
