The Chicago Bulls came into the NBA offseason with high hopes of landing one of the big-names free agents that would be available and instantly turn their storied NBA franchise back into a title contender once again.
Unfortunately, the only big move that the Bulls made this summer was bringing in big man Carlos Boozer from the Utah Jazz. Adding Boozer without a doubt makes their team better, but he wasn’t the big fish they were looking for in the free agent market.
Despite not being able to convince Dwyane Wade to come play in his hometown or lure in LeBron James with the opportunity to try and compete with Michael Jordan as Chicago’s finest, the Bulls have improved their basketball team this summer and will be a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference next season.
Even though most teams around the league are done wheeling and dealing, the Chicago Bulls still have a big chunk of money to spend and are not done just yet as they have two possible game changers in their crosshairs.
The two players the Chicago Bulls are targeting as of right now are former All-Star small forward Josh Howard and two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady. Both these players are of All-Star caliber and could help the Bulls become one of the elite teams in the league next season, but they also come with a fair share of baggage as Howard has run into trouble off the court and McGrady is known for his injuries more than his scoring ability.
Signing either one or both of these players is a risk at this point, but a must in my opinion as McGrady and Howard address needs on this team and could be the missing pieces to the championship puzzle in Chicago.
