Thursday night college football is one day away, but we already have a preview of the Big 12 battle of Colorado (+18) at Oklahoma State.
Don’t forget there’s also a Wednesday night contest in the MAC between Ball State and Central Michigan. Central Michigan is a big 15-point road favorite at Belmont.ag as it’s undefeated in the conference (6-0).
Oklahoma State (8-2 SU, 5-3-1 ATS) has battled back since its 45-35 loss versus Houston early in the season. They have won seven out of their last eight games, only getting outclassed by Texas 41-14.
The Cowboys have also done well ATS, going 4-1 in the last five games. That’s not bad for a team that lost suspended receiver Dez Bryant for the year. He’s one of the best players in the entire country.
The big question for OSU is the status of quarterback Zac Robinson. He suffered an apparent concussion last week against Texas Tech, but is expected to play. OSU beat the Red Raiders 24-17 as four-point favorites.
The Cowboys’ offense ranks 85th in the country in passing yards and 18th in rushing. The defense is tremendous against the run at seventh in the land (89.6 YPG).
Colorado (3-7 SU, 5-4 ATS) is just not a very good team. The offense will have an occasional big day, but they don’t scare the good teams like Oklahoma State. The defense gives up 28.7 PPG.
Coach Dan Hawkins even benched his own son (Cody Hawkins) in favor of quarterback Tyler Hansen, but the results have been mostly the same.
Note that Colorado is 0-5 SU on the road and 2-3 ATS. Their last road victory came way back in October, 2007.
