23rd July 2010 in NFL Betting

Coming into the 2010-2011 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys will most likely be the team with the most pressure on them to have successful season and make it all the way to the Super Bowl which will be played on their home field at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Last season the Cowboys were finally able to get that huge monkey off their back by getting their first playoff win in a long time after beating the Philadelphia Eagles in convincing fashion in the first round.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys were dominated in the second round by Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings, but the team had taken a step in the right direction and there was hope for the future once again.

Heading into the NFL Draft recently, it was uncertain what players the Dallas Cowboys might have been targeting, but most people believed that their main concern was the offensive line and protecting quarterback Tony Romo.

In somewhat of a surprise move, the Cowboys went and drafted arguably the most talented wide receiver in the NFL Draft in Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant. Even though teams like the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and a few others had their eyes set on drafting Bryant, the Cowboys swooped him up in the first-round.

This draft pick may have been ill advised, but ultimately it may have turned the Dallas Cowboys into the most dynamic offense into the NFL next season with Bryant playing alongside Miles Austin, Roy Williams and tight end Jason Witten.

On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to terms with the rookie wide receiver as they signed Dez Bryant to a five-year deal worth about $11.8 million dollars with $8.3 of that contract being guaranteed.

Odds to win the Super Bowl:

Dallas Cowboys: 10 to 1
