Congratulations to the 2011 St Louis Cardinals, who capped off an amazing final month and a half of the regular season play with a historic playoff run that will be remembered for decades. St Louis rallied back from seemingly insurmountable deficits to not only make the playoffs, but did it again in the memorable Game 6 of the World Series, only to survive and win it all in Game 7. Their perseverance paid off and they were able to send manager Tony La Russa off into the sunset as he retired a champion.
