Baltimore Regular Season Wins: Over 10 at (-130) or Under 10 at (+110)

The Ravens have transformed themselves in recent years to become a more balanced team that is threatening on both sides of the ball, rather than just intimidating teams with their stellar defense. They signed WR Anquan Boldin this summer and have a devastating rushing attack that can wear down teams to the core. They are one of the “darlings” of prognosticators this season to win the AFC, and at the very least claim the AFC North title.

At -140 they are the big favorites to win the AFC North with most thinking the Bengals dominance last year was nothing but a fluke. But just because many experts think this of Baltimore, doesn’t mean it is a “lock” to happen. They open the season against the Jets on Monday night, before playing three straight division games in the following weeks.

They do have some relative easy games on their schedule with the Bills, Buccaneers and two games against the Browns, but it is how the Ravens do against the cream of the crop this season that will end up defining them. They are up against top notch teams like New England, New Orleans, Atlanta and Miami, and have another meeting left with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati later in the year.

Everyone wants to believe that this team can get to 11 wins fairly easily, but the fact is the NFL is filled with parity and nothing ever comes easy. The Ravens are very weak in the secondary (thanks to injuries) and players like Ray Lewis and a couple other defensive members are getting a bit long in the tooth. Terrell Suggs had a very mediocre year in 2009, and they still can be perceived as quite predictable offensively.

Losing only 5 games is tough for any NFL team to do, and I just don’t see how Baltimore can do that this season. Anquan Boldin does make them better in the passing game, but if he is off or teams take him away, they will load up the box and force Flacco to beat them as they always have done. This is a good team, likely a playoff team, but just not an 11 win team.

This is either a no play or a play on the under here.

LMFAO!!! Yes, the NFL is filled with parody, teams are constantly parodying each other. Needless to say, I won’t be taking any advice from this poorly written article.
