Oakland Raiders (+3.5) @ Dallas Cowboys Thurs. Aug. 12th 9pm EST
The NFL season will be one step closer for two of the most storied NFL franchises on Thursday night as the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders will go head to head in their first preseason game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Coming into the upcoming NFL regular season, the Oakland Raiders have made some drastic changes to their struggling NFL franchise as they may have finally found the right quarterback to lead this team back into the playoffs. The Dallas Cowboys on the other hand will start another pressured filled season with Super Bowl aspirations as they could become the first team in NFL history to play in a Super Bowl on their home field.
America’s Team will without a doubt have extremely expectations heading into the NFL season, but the Oakland Raiders will be trying to just take another step forward by improving on last season’s disappointing 5-11 record.
With quarterback Jason Campbell under center for the silver and black, the Raiders chances of being able to compete for playoff spot in the AFC Conference has vastly improved as the quarterback position finally has some much needed stability.
Along with getting a Pro Bowl caliber QB under center, the Raiders have also upgraded their defense with rookie linebacker Rolando McClain out of Alabama and seem very confident heading into their first preseason game against Tony Romo and company.
Even though most people anticipate the Cowboys to blowout the Raiders on Thursday, I believe Oakland will surprise some people by dominating on both sides of the football and come out with the win.
If the Cowboys continue to play well on defense, the Raiders offense could be in for long day in Jason Campbell’s debut, but I still believe Oakland will pull off the upset in Texas on Thursday night.
Take the Oakland Raiders at +3.5.
