24th August 2010 in NBA Betting

The USA national basketball team, or Team USA as they are better known, are coming off a one point victory over Spain (86-85), but despite beating their best competition in Ricky Rubio and company, the team has lost one of their best guards in Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics).

Reportedly, Rondo has left the team due to some family issues that he had to deal with back home, but it has also been said that the All-Star point guard thought he made be the final player to get cut from the team and instead of being sent packing he decided to leave on his own accord.

Even though Rajon Rondo is arguably one of the best point guards in the NBA today up there with the likes of Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets) and Deron Williams (Utah Jazz), Coach K neglected to play him against Spain this past Sunday and that is what lead him to believe that he was on his way out.

As of right now, Team USA is the favorite to win the 2010 FIBA World Championships at ½, but after Spain’s inspired performance against the Americans on Sunday, this team without Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade seems to be missing some pieces of the puzzle and might not be able to come out on top when it is all said and done.

Kevin Durant might be the undisputed leader of this team and has been doing a great job taking over for Kobe Bryant, Team USA seems to be headed for a wakeup call in the near future, but in the meantime they will have to make do with the players below.

Final Roster

Guards: Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls), Chauncey Billups (Denver Nuggets), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder), Eric Gordon (Los Angeles Clippers), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers)

Forwards: Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers), Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies), Danny Granger (Indiana Pacers), Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves)

Center: Tyson Chandler (Dallas Mavericks)
