19th March 2010 in Free Picks, NBA Betting

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Los Angeles Lakers (-15) Fri. Mar. 19th 10:35pm EST Total: 215.5

The NBA regular season is quickly coming to an end with less than 15 games left for the playoff bound teams in the league and some of the NBA’s best are looking to clinch high seeds heading into the postseason.

The defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers had their fair share of struggles recently dropping three straight games, which the most they have lost in a row since trading for Pau Gasol in 2008, but they have been able to rebound and will have a four game winning streak heading into Friday night’s matchup against the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kobe Bryant has been fighting through multiple injuries this season and the pain he has been feeling has been apparent in his game, but he has amazed people this season by hitting an NBA record six game-winning shots this year.

Only Michael Jordan has the edge over Kobe in the game-winning shots category, but the Black Mamba is slowly, but surely catching up to MJ. Another part of MJ’s legacy that Kobe is trying to compete with is the six NBA titles which Kobe is two behind with four NBA titles of his own.

Despite many people believing that this is LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ year to win the NBA title, the defending champs have other intentions as they will be looking to repeat for the first time since early in the last decade.

The one thing that Kobe Bryant and company will be fighting for as the regular season comes to a close is the NBA’s best record and home court advantage. Right now the Cavs are three and a half games ahead of the Lakers, but Los Angeles could close the gap if they can keep their win streak alive.

Take the Lakers at -15.
