Think that Fantasy Football can’t effect NFL betting? Think again.
Week 11’s top quarterbacks are the usual suspects, but let’s take a look anyways. Sometimes in fantasy, you really don’t need to go out on a limb to pick the top scorers and point-spread-busters.
We’re going to break down the top 5 projected quarterbacks this week and see how their high scoring could change your betting.
1. Drew Brees
Line:
New Orleans Saints (-11.5) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+11.5)
The Saints have had some squeakers this season, but Brees continues to put up excellent fantasy numbers. They have had some issues covering big spreads, especially on the road – so watch out for this surging Bucs team that is playing better than their record would suggest. Obviously start Brees, but maybe look for some better betting opportunities this week.
2. Peyton Manning
Line:
Indianapolis Colts (-1) @ Baltimore Ravens (+1)
If you trust Peyton Manning, then you can trust him with a 1 point line. As we saw in Week 10, you can trust Pey-pey. I don’t like big lines on Colts games, but when it’s nearly a pick’em, how can you go against a perfect record and the game’s top QB?
3. Tom Brady
Line:
New York Jets (+11) @ New England Patriots (-11)
Even though TB’s last pass was a completion, it was about a yard too short. I like this as a big-time bounce back week for the Pats and the Dreamboat. The reeling Jets will have to play big defense this week to keep the Patriots in check. New England has too many weapons and too many things to prove.
4. Kurt Warner
Line:
Arizona Cardinals (-9) @ St. Louis Rams (+9)
Larry Fitz, Boldin and Steve Breaston. The Cards can easily cover 9 against the Rams Steven Jackson. Warner is a must-start for the cover + win. The Cardinals have been perfect on the road, and that will continue in Week 11.
5. Aaron Rodgers
Line:
San Francisco 49ers (+6.5) @ Green Bay Packers (-6.5)
The only reason I like Rodgers as a fantasy play this week is because the 49ers should open the game by having their way with the struggling Packers. Rodgers will quietly have to throw his way out of a mess. That means yards and maybe late scores, but not a 6.5-point cover.
Wildcard:
Donovan Mcnabb
Line:
Philadelphia Eagles (-3) @ Chicago Bears (+3)
McNabb threw for 450 yards in Week 10. Despite playing from behind, having an RB1 with 2 concussions and having some explosive weapons, we can chalk this up to McNabb’s form in the pocket. I like the fathead to have another great game this week and bust the spread on Chicago’s recently woeful defense.
