Los Angeles Lakers (-1) @ Phoenix Suns Fri. Mar. 12th 9:05pm EST Total: 214
Coming into Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers had lost three straight games and their title contending swagger seemed to be fading away as players like Pau Gasol were calling for a change in the offense and less shots for you know who!
Fortunately, the Lakers were able to get back on track by holding off Chris Bosh and company and witnessing some late game heroics once again from the best closer in the game, Kobe Bryant, who hit his sixth game-winning shot of the season.
On Friday night the defending champs will face off against their division rivals in Steve Nash’s Phoenix Suns. This season has been a breath of fresh air for Nash and company, but they still have a ways to go before they can contend with the likes of the Lakers.
Even though the Phoenix Suns aren’t really considered in the top three teams in the Western Conference right now they are only seven games back of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Pacific division and could make things interesting come playoff time if they make a run in the second of the season.
Coming into this matchup, both the Lakers and the Suns have won their previous games with Phoenix getting the best of the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles barely getting past the Toronto Raptors.
The one thing the Suns might have in their favor against the Lakers is rest as they haven’t played a game since last Thursday and have had all week to get healthy and ready to face off against the defending champs.
Despite the Suns probably giving Kobe Bryant and company a run for their money Friday night, I believe the -1 point spread a steal and a no brainer for any sports bettor.
Take the Lakers at -1.
